Our Story
David Sadler, Sam Reese and Phil King started Sadlesea in 2017 in order to provide a route to market for Radio Communications businesses into East Africa. Our initial partners being Airsys Communications Technolgies, Barrett Communications and Zetron.
In 2018 to better serve the Kenyan market, by providing local support for Motorola, Barrett and Zetron products, the team procured a local company in Nairobi, Digital Radio Limited.
In 2019 David and Sam formed a third company Sadlesea Communication Limited and as part of this we re-organized how the three companies work:
Sadlesea Ltd (https://sadlesea.com)- Provides sales and marketing support to radio communications and information systems companies, wishing to access the East African Market
Sadlesea Communications Ltd (https://sadlesea.co.uk) - Provides radio communication and information systems to the UK market
Digital Radio Ltd (https://drl.co.ke) - Provides radio communication and information systems to the Kenyan market
What is Broadband Push-to-Talk and Press-to-Talk Over Cellular?
Broadband Push-to-Talk (BBPTT) and Press-to-Talk Over Cellular (PoC) are solutions to allow instant and global communication at a push of a button over a broadband network on a cellular device (smart phone); effectively turning your cellular device into a two-way radio using a broadband network.
BBPTT consists of using a cellular network such as 3G, 4G, 5G, Wi-Fi or mobile satellite networks to provide communication between two or more users.
At Sadlesea we see BBPTT & PoC as a communication offering where before there was none. It is not a replacement for two-way radio, but a solution which adds to an existing service offering.
There are times when a PMR system may not be viable or limited due to location, infrastructure or time constraint. BBPTT & PoC can be used as a secure instant communications solution, to provide or extend the range and functionality of communications locally, nationally or globally.
Furthermore, we can integrate PMR and broadband systems, enabling communications between a two-way radio and a cellular device.
